I get it...good psychotherapy isn't cheap. But it is an investment that can have a life long positive ripple effect. It requires commitment and priority. Sessions are scheduled either weekly or bi-weekly (you choose one or the other consistently).

If you have a PPO, please check with your plan about Out-of-Network benefits. By definition, PPO's allow for that. I'm happy to issue you a Super Bill so that you can get reimbursed for your sessions based on the terms of your insurance plan.
Unfortunately, HMO's typically don't reimburse for out-of-network services. I'm not a participating provider for any insurance plans.
I realize it's become difficult to find a good therapist who's in-network and that this limitation can be frustrating. Unfortunately, the insurance industry makes it very difficult for therapists to earn a livable wage. I wish I had a solution as I believe that quality mental health services should be accessible to everyone.

1. Health Savings Accounts & Flex Spending Accounts (Cafeteria plans) allow you to get reimbursed for therapy with pre-tax money. For most people, these plans reduce their actual out of pocket costs by 25-40% without insurance. If you're also billing your PPO Insurance for therapy, the non-covered amount can be submitted to your HSA/FSA which in turn reduces out of pocket costs even more.
2. Reduced Fee/Sliding Fee. On occasion, I reduce my fee in order to make my services available to someone who cannot afford them. This agreement would be contingent upon a detailed discussion of your financial circumstances and not everyone will qualify. If your income is low or your circumstances are extenuating, you're welcome to inquire.
3. Tax Deduction: In some cases, psychotherapy costs may be tax deductible. Please speak with your tax professional for advice.
